# Weigel's vs The Local Rewards

The clearest difference is ads: The Local Rewards at none against Weigel's's shown. The Local Rewards also leads on monetization model (free vs ad-supported) and iOS requirement (10.0 vs 12.0). Weigel's's advantage is update cadence (every 3 months vs every 31 months) and ratings volume (5K vs 2). On price, rating, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

The Local Rewards holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Weigel's has 5K ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Weigel's ships an update every 3 months, The Local Rewards every 31 months. The most recent releases landed on November 1, 2026 and November 3, 2026 respectively.
