# Topo Maps+ vs Mapcha

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Mapcha at none against Topo Maps+'s 11. Mapcha also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.7) and iOS requirement (8.0 vs 17.0). Topo Maps+'s advantage is update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 11 months) and ratings volume (9.4K vs 1). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Topo Maps+ sells 11 in-app purchases, starting at $14.99 per 3 months. Mapcha asks for nothing beyond the download.

Mapcha holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Topo Maps+ has 9.4K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 62% of Topo Maps+'s written reviews are positive against 50% of Mapcha's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Topo Maps+ ships an update every 3 weeks, Mapcha every 11 months. The most recent releases landed on October 18, 2026 and October 15, 2026 respectively.
