# SoBrief vs Studley

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Studley at 50% against SoBrief's 18%. Studley also leads on update cadence (weekly vs every 6 weeks) and rating (4.7 vs 4.5). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. SoBrief sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month and Studley sells 12 in-app purchases, starting at $7.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Studley holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Studley has 4.5K ratings behind it against 423, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 18% of SoBrief's written reviews are positive against 50% of Studley's.

SoBrief ships an update every 6 weeks, Studley weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 27, 2026 and October 28, 2026 respectively.
