# DataBox vs SidePad

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: SidePad at none against DataBox's 7. DataBox's advantage is update cadence (weekly vs every 2 weeks) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 15.1). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. DataBox sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days. SidePad asks for nothing beyond the download.

DataBox ships an update weekly, SidePad every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 13, 2026 and October 3, 2026 respectively.
