# GOM Player vs KBS KONG

The clearest difference is rating: GOM Player at 4.0 against KBS KONG's 3.3. GOM Player also leads on ads (none vs shown) and monetization model (free vs ad-supported). On price, review sentiment, ratings volume and update cadence there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

GOM Player holds the better App Store score, 4.0 against 3.3. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 98 and 35 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 52% of GOM Player's written reviews are positive against 55% of KBS KONG's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

GOM Player ships an update every 5 weeks, KBS KONG every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 11, 2026 and October 15, 2026 respectively.
