# SplashLearn vs Smartie

The clearest difference is monetization model: SplashLearn at free with in-app purchases against Smartie's subscription. SplashLearn also leads on ratings volume (32K vs 2) and chart position (#63 vs unranked). Smartie's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.5) and review sentiment (100% vs 74%). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. SplashLearn sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $7.99 per month and Smartie sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Smartie holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: SplashLearn has 32K ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 74% of SplashLearn's written reviews are positive against 100% of Smartie's.

SplashLearn ships an update every 2 weeks, Smartie every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 30, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
