# Recite vs NotesXP

The clearest difference is review sentiment: NotesXP at 86% against Recite's 50%. NotesXP also leads on ratings volume (53 vs 1). Recite's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.8). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Recite sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per 7 days and NotesXP sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Recite holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: NotesXP has 53 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 50% of Recite's written reviews are positive against 86% of NotesXP's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Recite ships an update every 9 days, NotesXP every 11 days. The most recent releases landed on October 13, 2026 and October 14, 2026 respectively.
