# Flight vs Time Calc

Flight and Time Calc both sit at 4.4 stars, but that hides the real split: 88% of Flight's written reviews are positive against 42% of Time Calc's. Flight also leads on iOS requirement (15.6 vs 18.0). Time Calc's advantage is monetization model (freemium vs subscription) and update cadence (monthly vs every 10 months). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Flight sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Time Calc sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Time Calc holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Time Calc has 235 ratings behind it against 11, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 88% of Flight's written reviews are positive against 42% of Time Calc's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Flight ships an update every 10 months, Time Calc monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 23, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
