# Lacto vs Step2Up

The clearest difference is update cadence: Step2Up at fortnightly against Lacto's monthly. Step2Up also leads on iOS requirement (12.0 vs 14.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Lacto ships an update monthly, Step2Up fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on September 30, 2026 and October 11, 2026 respectively.
