# SMPRO vs Lilacpane

The clearest difference is ads: Lilacpane at none against SMPRO's shown. Lilacpane also leads on update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 2 months) and review sentiment (75% vs 65%). SMPRO's advantage is rating (4.5 vs 4.1) and ratings volume (386 vs 8). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. SMPRO sells 10 one-off in-app purchases and Lilacpane sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $1.49 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

SMPRO holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 4.1. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: SMPRO has 386 ratings behind it against 8, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 65% of SMPRO's written reviews are positive against 75% of Lilacpane's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

SMPRO ships an update every 2 months, Lilacpane every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on November 1, 2026 and November 3, 2026 respectively.
