# Passes vs BuzzStar

The clearest difference is rating: Passes at 4.7 against BuzzStar's 4.1. Passes also leads on ads (none vs shown) and ratings volume (635 vs 21). BuzzStar's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 4) and review sentiment (80% vs 45%). On price, update cadence, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Passes sells 4 one-off in-app purchases. BuzzStar asks for nothing beyond the download.

Passes holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.1. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Passes has 635 ratings behind it against 21, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 45% of Passes's written reviews are positive against 80% of BuzzStar's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Passes ships an update every 5 days, BuzzStar weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 18, 2026 and October 19, 2026 respectively.
