# WeatherWise.app vs GDDTracker

The clearest difference is monetization model: WeatherWise.app at freemium against GDDTracker's subscription. WeatherWise.app also leads on ratings volume (804 vs 13) and chart position (#13 vs unranked). GDDTracker's advantage is review sentiment (100% vs 77%) and update cadence (every 2 days vs every 2 weeks). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. WeatherWise.app sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per 7 days and GDDTracker sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.6 for WeatherWise.app against 4.7 for GDDTracker. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: WeatherWise.app has 804 ratings behind it against 13, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 77% of WeatherWise.app's written reviews are positive against 100% of GDDTracker's.

WeatherWise.app ships an update every 2 weeks, GDDTracker every 2 days. The most recent releases landed on November 5, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
