# TalkHere vs MyMandarin

The clearest difference is rating: TalkHere at 4.9 against MyMandarin's 4.4. TalkHere also leads on ratings volume (186 vs 15). MyMandarin's advantage is iOS requirement (15.1 vs 17.0). On price, review sentiment, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. TalkHere sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month and MyMandarin sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $12.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

TalkHere holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: TalkHere has 186 ratings behind it against 15, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 98% of TalkHere's written reviews are positive against 100% of MyMandarin's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

TalkHere ships an update every 4 days, MyMandarin every 3 days. Both last shipped on October 24, 2026.
