# HabitStar vs Random Reminder

The clearest difference is rating: Random Reminder at 4.6 against HabitStar's 4.3. On price, review sentiment, ratings volume and update cadence there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. HabitStar sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month and Random Reminder sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Random Reminder holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.3. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 18 and 18 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 85% of HabitStar's written reviews are positive against 83% of Random Reminder's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

HabitStar ships an update every 8 days, Random Reminder weekly. Both last shipped on October 24, 2026.
