# Letterbox vs ReadAura

The clearest difference is update cadence: ReadAura at every 10 days against Letterbox's every 6 months. ReadAura also leads on device support (3 vs 1) and iOS requirement (15.0 vs 17). On price, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Letterbox sells 3 one-off in-app purchases and ReadAura sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Letterbox ships an update every 6 months, ReadAura every 10 days. The most recent releases landed on October 13, 2026 and October 8, 2026 respectively.
