# Screen Time Control vs Regain

Screen Time Control and Regain both sit at 4.5 stars, but that hides the real split: 91% of Regain's written reviews are positive against 81% of Screen Time Control's. Screen Time Control's advantage is ratings volume (157 vs 30). On price, rating, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Screen Time Control sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month and Regain sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Screen Time Control holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Screen Time Control has 157 ratings behind it against 30, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 81% of Screen Time Control's written reviews are positive against 91% of Regain's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Screen Time Control ships an update every 5 days, Regain every 9 days. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 28, 2026 respectively.
