# Nintendo Today! vs DS App

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Nintendo Today! at none against DS App's 1. Nintendo Today! also leads on rating (4.3 vs 3.9) and ratings volume (1K vs 14). DS App's advantage is update cadence (daily vs every 2 weeks). On price, ads, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. DS App sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $6.99 per month. Nintendo Today! asks for nothing beyond the download.

Nintendo Today! holds the better App Store score, 4.3 against 3.9. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Nintendo Today! has 1K ratings behind it against 14, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Nintendo Today! ships an update every 2 weeks, DS App daily. The most recent releases landed on October 30, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
