# Bloom vs Lockout

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Bloom at none against Lockout's 6. Bloom also leads on ratings volume (2.4K vs 1). Lockout's advantage is update cadence (every 5 days vs fortnightly) and rating (5.0 vs 4.8). On price, ads, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Lockout sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $7.49 per month. Bloom asks for nothing beyond the download.

Lockout holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Bloom has 2.4K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Bloom ships an update fortnightly, Lockout every 5 days. The most recent releases landed on October 17, 2026 and October 2, 2026 respectively.
