# MindMap vs Map Canvas

The clearest difference is ads: Map Canvas at none against MindMap's shown. Map Canvas also leads on update cadence (fortnightly vs every 5 months). MindMap's advantage is iOS requirement (13.0 vs 18.0). On price, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. MindMap sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month and Map Canvas sells 3 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

MindMap ships an update every 5 months, Map Canvas fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on September 27, 2026 and October 1, 2026 respectively.
