# Splice Dinos vs Scratch Inc.

The clearest difference is ads: Scratch Inc. at none against Splice Dinos's shown. Scratch Inc. also leads on ratings volume (1.9K vs 5) and update cadence (every 6 days vs every 4 weeks). Splice Dinos's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.7) and device support (3 vs 1). On price, review sentiment, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Splice Dinos sells 4 one-off in-app purchases and Scratch Inc. sells 5 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Splice Dinos holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Scratch Inc. has 1.9K ratings behind it against 5, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 86% of Splice Dinos's written reviews are positive against 93% of Scratch Inc.'s, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Splice Dinos ships an update every 4 weeks, Scratch Inc. every 6 days. The most recent releases landed on October 3, 2026 and October 23, 2026 respectively.
