# Lightning Camera vs ThunderCam

The clearest difference is update cadence: ThunderCam at every 3 days against Lightning Camera's every 2 weeks. Lightning Camera's advantage is device support (3 vs 1). On price, ads, in-app purchases and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Lightning Camera sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days and ThunderCam sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Lightning Camera ships an update every 2 weeks, ThunderCam every 3 days. The most recent releases landed on October 11, 2026 and October 8, 2026 respectively.
