# Hypermonkey vs Recordo

The clearest difference is rating: Recordo at 5.0 against Hypermonkey's 4.5. Recordo also leads on update cadence (every 6 days vs every 2 weeks). Hypermonkey's advantage is review sentiment (75% vs 50%). On price, ratings volume, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Hypermonkey sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month and Recordo sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Recordo holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.5. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 19 and 7 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 75% of Hypermonkey's written reviews are positive against 50% of Recordo's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Hypermonkey ships an update every 2 weeks, Recordo every 6 days. The most recent releases landed on October 11, 2026 and October 7, 2026 respectively.
