# MathGPT vs Chalk

The clearest difference is ads: Chalk at none against MathGPT's shown. Chalk also leads on update cadence (every 4 days vs fortnightly) and review sentiment (100% vs 81%). MathGPT's advantage is ratings volume (6K vs 1) and chart position (#162 vs unranked). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. MathGPT sells 8 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month and Chalk sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Chalk holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: MathGPT has 6K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 81% of MathGPT's written reviews are positive against 100% of Chalk's.

MathGPT ships an update fortnightly, Chalk every 4 days. The most recent releases landed on September 30, 2026 and October 2, 2026 respectively.
