# Starcrossed vs Archetype

Starcrossed and Archetype both sit at 4.8 stars, but that hides the real split: 100% of Archetype's written reviews are positive against 29% of Starcrossed's. Starcrossed's advantage is update cadence (every 5 days vs every 6 weeks) and ratings volume (5.3K vs 27). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Starcrossed sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per 7 days and Archetype sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.8 for Starcrossed against 4.8 for Archetype. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Starcrossed has 5.3K ratings behind it against 27, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 29% of Starcrossed's written reviews are positive against 100% of Archetype's.

Starcrossed ships an update every 5 days, Archetype every 6 weeks. The most recent releases landed on November 4, 2026 and November 5, 2026 respectively.
