# AFFiNE vs Vikunja Client

AFFiNE and Vikunja Client both sit at 4.3 stars, but that hides the real split: 83% of Vikunja Client's written reviews are positive against 42% of AFFiNE's. Vikunja Client also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 3) and ads (none vs shown). AFFiNE's advantage is ratings volume (36 vs 8) and iOS requirement (16.5 vs 18.0). On price, rating, update cadence and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. AFFiNE sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $7.99 per month. Vikunja Client asks for nothing beyond the download.

AFFiNE holds the better App Store score, 4.3 against 4.1. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 36 and 8 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 42% of AFFiNE's written reviews are positive against 83% of Vikunja Client's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

AFFiNE ships an update every 3 weeks, Vikunja Client monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
