# Parrot vs Emma

The clearest difference is monetization model: Emma at free with in-app purchases against Parrot's subscription. Emma also leads on review sentiment (80% vs 45%). Parrot's advantage is chart position (#60 vs unranked) and ratings volume (17K vs 4K). On price, rating, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Parrot sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per 7 days and Emma sells 39 in-app purchases, starting at $8.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.7 for Parrot against 4.6 for Emma. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 17K and 4K respectively. Written reviews are what separate them: 45% of Parrot's written reviews are positive against 80% of Emma's.
