# Parrot vs PolyPod

Parrot and PolyPod both sit at 4.7 stars, but that hides the real split: 100% of PolyPod's written reviews are positive against 45% of Parrot's. PolyPod also leads on monetization model (free with in-app purchases vs subscription) and ads (none vs shown). Parrot's advantage is ratings volume (17K vs 5) and update cadence (every 6 days vs every 4 weeks). On price, rating, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Parrot sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per 7 days and PolyPod sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $1.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.7 for Parrot against 4.8 for PolyPod. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Parrot has 17K ratings behind it against 5, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 45% of Parrot's written reviews are positive against 100% of PolyPod's.

Parrot ships an update every 6 days, PolyPod every 4 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 22, 2026 and October 16, 2026 respectively.
