# Parrot vs Hola

The clearest difference is rating: Parrot at 4.7 against Hola's 4.0. Parrot also leads on ratings volume (17K vs 1) and chart position (#55 vs unranked). Hola's advantage is monetization model (free with in-app purchases vs subscription) and ads (none vs shown). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Parrot sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per 7 days and Hola sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Parrot holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Parrot has 17K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Parrot ships an update every 6 days, Hola every 8 days. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 14, 2026 respectively.
