# Parrot vs Sentence Lab

The clearest difference is rating: Parrot at 4.7 against Sentence Lab's 3.0. Parrot also leads on update cadence (weekly vs every 6 weeks) and ratings volume (18K vs 1). Sentence Lab's advantage is monetization model (free with in-app purchases vs subscription) and ads (none vs shown). On price, in-app purchases, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Parrot sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per 7 days and Sentence Lab sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Parrot holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 3.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Parrot has 18K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Parrot ships an update weekly, Sentence Lab every 6 weeks. The most recent releases landed on November 1, 2026 and October 31, 2026 respectively.
