# Cursively Handwriting Lessons vs CaliKids

The clearest difference is rating: CaliKids at 5.0 against Cursively Handwriting Lessons's 4.4. CaliKids also leads on update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 2 months). Cursively Handwriting Lessons's advantage is ratings volume (156 vs 1) and iOS requirement (16.4 vs 18.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Cursively Handwriting Lessons sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month and CaliKids sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

CaliKids holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Cursively Handwriting Lessons has 156 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Cursively Handwriting Lessons ships an update every 2 months, CaliKids every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on November 4, 2026 and November 5, 2026 respectively.
