# AppLock vs Shift

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: AppLock at none against Shift's 1. Shift's advantage is update cadence (fortnightly vs every 5 weeks). On price, ads, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Shift sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. AppLock asks for nothing beyond the download.

AppLock ships an update every 5 weeks, Shift fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 6, 2026 and October 5, 2026 respectively.
