# Screen Time Control vs Scrolly

The clearest difference is monetization model: Scrolly at free against Screen Time Control's freemium. Scrolly also leads on rating (4.7 vs 4.5) and ratings volume (182 vs 33). Screen Time Control's advantage is review sentiment (74% vs 53%). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Screen Time Control sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month and Scrolly sells 8 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Scrolly holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Scrolly has 182 ratings behind it against 33, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 74% of Screen Time Control's written reviews are positive against 53% of Scrolly's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Screen Time Control ships an update fortnightly, Scrolly every 8 days. The most recent releases landed on September 21, 2026 and October 14, 2026 respectively.
