# Weekly vs QRcode scanner

The clearest difference is ads: Weekly at none against QRcode scanner's shown. Weekly also leads on update cadence (every 3 days vs every 10 days). QRcode scanner's advantage is device support (3 vs 1) and iOS requirement (15.5 vs 17.0). On price and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Weekly sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month and QRcode scanner sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Weekly ships an update every 3 days, QRcode scanner every 10 days. The most recent releases landed on October 17, 2026 and October 7, 2026 respectively.
