# Pi vs Outside

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Pi at none against Outside's 2. Pi also leads on ratings volume (34 vs 1) and iOS requirement (12.0 vs 15.0). Outside's advantage is ads (none vs shown). On price, rating, review sentiment and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Outside sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. Pi asks for nothing beyond the download.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.9 for Pi against 5.0 for Outside. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Pi has 34 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews split almost evenly too, at 100% and 100% positive.
