# FindInOTT vs shelf

The clearest difference is ads: shelf at none against FindInOTT's shown. shelf also leads on monetization model (free vs ad-supported) and ratings volume (17 vs 2). FindInOTT's advantage is update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 4 months) and review sentiment (100% vs 91%). On price, rating, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 5.0 for FindInOTT against 4.9 for shelf. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: shelf has 17 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 100% of FindInOTT's written reviews are positive against 91% of shelf's.

FindInOTT ships an update every 3 weeks, shelf every 4 months. The most recent releases landed on October 8, 2026 and October 14, 2026 respectively.
