# Map Canvas vs Autopen

The clearest difference is rating: Autopen at 5.0 against Map Canvas's 4.5. Autopen also leads on monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases) and review sentiment (100% vs 81%). Map Canvas's advantage is ratings volume (109 vs 2) and iOS requirement (18.0 vs 26.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Map Canvas sells 4 one-off in-app purchases and Autopen sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Autopen holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Map Canvas has 109 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 81% of Map Canvas's written reviews are positive against 100% of Autopen's.

Map Canvas ships an update fortnightly, Autopen every 5 days. The most recent releases landed on October 30, 2026 and October 25, 2026 respectively.
