# Map Canvas vs RotaNest

The clearest difference is update cadence: RotaNest at every 3 days against Map Canvas's fortnightly. RotaNest also leads on iOS requirement (15.1 vs 18.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Map Canvas sells 3 one-off in-app purchases and RotaNest sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Map Canvas ships an update fortnightly, RotaNest every 3 days. The most recent releases landed on October 17, 2026 and October 20, 2026 respectively.
