# Midi Suite vs OpenCards

The clearest difference is rating: OpenCards at 5.0 against Midi Suite's 3.1. OpenCards also leads on update cadence (fortnightly vs every 2 months). Midi Suite's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 1) and ratings volume (7 vs 1). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. OpenCards sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $0.99 per month. Midi Suite asks for nothing beyond the download.

OpenCards holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 3.1. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Midi Suite has 7 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Midi Suite ships an update every 2 months, OpenCards fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 4, 2026 and October 7, 2026 respectively.
