# Speed Reading vs PMP Prep

The clearest difference is monetization model: PMP Prep at free against Speed Reading's free with in-app purchases. PMP Prep also leads on update cadence (weekly vs every 3 weeks) and rating (5.0 vs 4.8). Speed Reading's advantage is ratings volume (182 vs 2) and iOS requirement (16 vs 18.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Speed Reading sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per 7 days and PMP Prep sells 4 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

PMP Prep holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Speed Reading has 182 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Speed Reading ships an update every 3 weeks, PMP Prep weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 16, 2026 and October 7, 2026 respectively.
