# Bright Scale vs Weight Lists

The clearest difference is update cadence: Weight Lists at every 6 weeks against Bright Scale's every 11 months. Bright Scale's advantage is iOS requirement (13.0 vs 16). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Bright Scale sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month and Weight Lists sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Bright Scale ships an update every 11 months, Weight Lists every 6 weeks. The most recent releases landed on September 30, 2026 and October 3, 2026 respectively.
