# Rope Drop Guide vs Park Journal

The clearest difference is rating: Park Journal at 5.0 against Rope Drop Guide's 3.6. Park Journal also leads on update cadence (every 2 days vs every 3 weeks). Rope Drop Guide's advantage is ratings volume (10 vs 1) and iOS requirement (15.6 vs 17.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Rope Drop Guide sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $1.99 per month and Park Journal sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Park Journal holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 3.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Rope Drop Guide has 10 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Rope Drop Guide ships an update every 3 weeks, Park Journal every 2 days. The most recent releases landed on October 7, 2026 and October 13, 2026 respectively.
