# StitchTally vs YarnPixel

The clearest difference is review sentiment: YarnPixel at 100% against StitchTally's 60%. YarnPixel also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 4). StitchTally's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and rating (4.8 vs 4.3). On price and update cadence there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. StitchTally sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per 7 days. YarnPixel asks for nothing beyond the download.

StitchTally holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: StitchTally has 304 ratings behind it against 6, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 60% of StitchTally's written reviews are positive against 100% of YarnPixel's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

StitchTally ships an update every 3 weeks, YarnPixel fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on November 8, 2026 and November 5, 2026 respectively.
