# Gentle Timer vs Visual Timer

Gentle Timer and Visual Timer both sit at 4.6 stars, but that hides the real split: 100% of Gentle Timer's written reviews are positive against 50% of Visual Timer's. Gentle Timer also leads on update cadence (every 2 days vs every 2 weeks) and ratings volume (378 vs 46). Visual Timer's advantage is monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Gentle Timer sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Visual Timer sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
