# SnapSize vs Timely Journal

The clearest difference is update cadence: Timely Journal at every 4 days against SnapSize's every 6 months. SnapSize's advantage is device support (3 vs 1) and iOS requirement (12.0 vs 17.6). On price, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

SnapSize ships an update every 6 months, Timely Journal every 4 days. The most recent releases landed on September 30, 2026 and September 23, 2026 respectively.
