# Blackout Coffee vs HotSauce.com

The clearest difference is monetization model: HotSauce.com at free against Blackout Coffee's free with in-app purchases. HotSauce.com also leads on device support (3 vs 1) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 18.0). Blackout Coffee's advantage is ratings volume (4K vs 34) and update cadence (monthly vs every 3 months). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.9 for Blackout Coffee against 4.9 for HotSauce.com. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Blackout Coffee has 4K ratings behind it against 34, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Blackout Coffee ships an update monthly, HotSauce.com every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on October 30, 2026 and October 21, 2026 respectively.
