# Candy vs VideoGen

The clearest difference is review sentiment: VideoGen at 60% against Candy's 0%. VideoGen also leads on chart position (#173 vs unranked). Candy's advantage is rating (3.9 vs 3.0) and update cadence (every 10 days vs monthly). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Candy sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $7.99 per 7 days and VideoGen sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Candy holds the better App Store score, 3.9 against 3.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Candy has 36 ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 0% of Candy's written reviews are positive against 60% of VideoGen's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Candy ships an update every 10 days, VideoGen monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 27, 2026 and October 28, 2026 respectively.
