# BoatPass vs FollowApp Pulse

The clearest difference is update cadence: FollowApp Pulse at every 2 days against BoatPass's every 3 weeks. FollowApp Pulse also leads on iOS requirement (15.0 vs 17.6). BoatPass's advantage is ratings volume (5 vs 1). On price, rating, review sentiment and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 5.0 for BoatPass against 5.0 for FollowApp Pulse. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: BoatPass has 5 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews split almost evenly too, at 100% and 100% positive.

BoatPass ships an update every 3 weeks, FollowApp Pulse every 2 days. The most recent releases landed on October 30, 2026 and November 6, 2026 respectively.
