# OKVPN vs VPN

The clearest difference is monetization model: VPN at free with in-app purchases against OKVPN's subscription. VPN also leads on rating (4.5 vs 4.0) and review sentiment (50% vs 33%). OKVPN's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 15.6). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. OKVPN sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days and VPN sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

VPN holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: VPN has 41 ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 33% of OKVPN's written reviews are positive against 50% of VPN's.

OKVPN ships an update every 2 weeks, VPN monthly. The most recent releases landed on November 4, 2026 and November 5, 2026 respectively.
