# Nivi vs TanStar

The clearest difference is rating: Nivi at 3.8 against TanStar's 3.0. Nivi also leads on ratings volume (22 vs 2). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Nivi sells 16 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month and TanStar sells 14 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Nivi holds the better App Store score, 3.8 against 3.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Nivi has 22 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Nivi ships an update every 2 weeks, TanStar fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 12, 2026 and October 8, 2026 respectively.
