# Chatbot AI vs Steps

Chatbot AI and Steps both sit at 4.6 stars, but that hides the real split: 100% of Steps's written reviews are positive against 63% of Chatbot AI's. Chatbot AI's advantage is ratings volume (4.1K vs 40). On price, rating, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Chatbot AI sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per 7 days and Steps sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $12.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.6 for Chatbot AI against 4.5 for Steps. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Chatbot AI has 4.1K ratings behind it against 40, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 63% of Chatbot AI's written reviews are positive against 100% of Steps's.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on November 4, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
